    THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BINGHAMTON HAS ISSUED A LAKE
    EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS
    AFTERNOON TO 1 PM EST FRIDAY. A WIND CHILL ADVISORY HAS ALSO BEEN
    ISSUED. THIS WIND CHILL ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS
    EVENING TO 9 AM EST FRIDAY.
    * LOCATIONS...THE WESTERN MOHAWK VALLEY REGION...INCLUDING THE
    SYRACUSE METRO AREA...AS WELL AS
    MORRISVILLE...HAMILTON...ROME...AND UTICA.
    * HAZARDS...LAKE-EFFECT SNOW...BLOWING SNOW...AND BITTER COLD WIND CHILLS.
    * ACCUMULATIONS...SNOWFALL TOTALS OF 3 TO 7 INCHES...WITH THE
    HIGHEST AMOUNTS CLOSER TO 7 INCHES ALONG AND JUST NORTH OF THE
    THRUWAY CORRIDOR...FROM NEAR BREWERTON...TO CICERO...MESSENGER
    BAY...VERONA...AND ROME.
    * TIMING...SNOW SHOWERS AND SQUALLS WILL DEVELOP BY EARLY
    AFTERNOON...ALONG AN INCOMING COLD FRONT. BEHIND THIS FRONT...A
    BAND OF LAKE-EFFECT SNOW WILL ENTER THE REGION BY EARLY
    EVENING...BETWEEN 6 AND 9 PM. THE MOST INTENSE SNOWFALL SHOULD
    OCCUR OVERNIGHT...WHEN SNOWFALL RATES OF AN INCH PER HOUR ARE
    POSSIBLE. BY MID TO LATE MORNING ON FRIDAY...THE MAIN LAKE-
    EFFECT BAND IS EXPECTED TO SHIFT BACK NORTHWARD...AND LIKELY OUT
    OF THE AREA BY MIDDAY.
    * WIND CHILL READINGS...AS LOW AS 13 TO 23 BELOW ZERO.
    * WINDS...WEST 15 TO 25 MPH THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...WITH
    GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH. WINDS MAY DIMINISH SOMEWHAT LATER TONIGHT
    AND FRIDAY MORNING.
    * TEMPERATURES...MAINLY IN THE TEENS TODAY...DROPPING TO NEAR ZERO
    TONIGHT...THEN MOSTLY IN THE 5 TO 15 DEGREE RANGE FRIDAY.
    * IMPACTS...SNOW COVERED SLIPPERY TRAVEL SURFACES...AND
    DANGEROUSLY COLD CONDITIONS.
