Folks from all-over made the trip to Crown Point, NY to see the arch of the new Lake Champlain bridge raised into place. Some of the spectators took a moment to reflect on the history in the making.

Structure arrives at Crown Point, lifted into place
It was a muggy 65 degrees at 5 a.m. Aug. 26 in Port Henry as onlookers waited for the Champlain Bridge arch to make its journey to Crown Point.
Government and corporate officials joined unaffiliated visitors the morning of Aug. 26 to witness history being made as the middle arch of the Lake Champlain bridge was ever-so-slowly lifted into place.
Structure leaves Port Henry for Crown Point
The Lake Champlain Bridge arch began its journey from Port Henry, N.Y. to Crown Point, N.Y. at sunrise today.
