Traffic once again flows freely over Lake Champlain between Crown Point in New York and Chimney Point in Vermont as the new Champlain Bridge was opened for traffic Nov. 7. The span was closed on Oct. 16, 2009, with the original bridge being destroyed in December of the same year. The new bridge was designed by Ted Zoli, a North Country native, and built by Flatiron Construction.
