Spectators at the first-ever Brant Lake Winter Carnival try their hand at the sport of curling. The second annual Brant Lake Winter Carnival is being held Saturday, Feb. 8, 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Jimbo’s on the Point at Brant Lake. Planned for the event are outhouse races, snowshoe softball games, broomball games, skating, hockey shoot off, ladies’ fry pan toss competition, vintage snowmobile display, food, music, fireworks at dusk and more. Softball games begin around 11 a.m., with outhouse races beginning with lineup at 2:30 p.m. Fireworks are scheduled for around dusk, with music by the Stony Creek Band late afternoon through evening. All times and events subject to change.
