Shiela Johnston (left) and her 16-year-old daughter Hailey (right), were both diagnosed, weeks apart last year, with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. The two have undergone extensive radiation, surgery and chemotherapy treatments over the past year and their prognosis is now quite good. However, Shiela and her husband Darell Johnston have been facing burdensome medical bills, as they both juggle their round-the-clock responsibilities of employment, homemaking, and rearing 6 children, ranging from age 2 to 16.
A benefit concert is to be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday Sept. 12 at the Hudson River Music Hall, 10 Maple St in Hudson Falls, to raise money for the Johnston family, The concert features a lineup of talented regional singer-songwriters. All are invited to attend.

Mother & teen daughter both stricken with lymphoma; benefit concert set for Thursday eve. Sept. 12

Friends of Shiela Johnston were shocked when she was diagnosed in fall 2012 with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. But a few weeks later, they were heartbroken when Shiela's 16-year-old daughter was diagnosed with the same life-threatening illness. A fundraiser concert for their family is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 0 p.m. Thursday Sept. 12 at the Hudson River Music Hall, 10 Maple St., and a talented lineup of singer-songwriters are to perform.
