During a barbecue several years ago, youth advocate Irv West of Thurman confronts his lama 'Critter' when the creature feasted on some corn while West took a short break from meal preparation. West is offering a public presentation at 6 p.m. Wednesday May 8 at Crandall Library in Glens Falls about reaching out to youth who may be experiencing problems or stress — as well as effective ways of advocating for teens when dealing with school and health care authorities.
