Hours before jury selection was scheduled to begin, a Westport man changed his plea to guilty first-degree strangulation on Dec. 10.
Three Keeseville teens arrested for attempted armed robbery
Three Keeseville teenagers were arrested Sunday, Dec. 9 for armed robbery after allegedly attempting to rob the Keeseville Mobil Station. Dexter T. Nash, 16, of Keeseville, Kevin J. Archer, 19, of Keeseville, and a 12-year-old male juvenile were arrested without incident following the attempted robbery.
SL man arrested for making false report to police in shooting case
Police believe Martin’s wounds to be self-inflicted
Police arrest the Saranac Lake man for making a false report saying he was shot and robbed. At 9 a.m. on Nov. 27, police arrested the victim, 55-year-old man William J. Martin of Saranac Lake. Martin was charged with third-degree falsely reporting an incident and making a punishable false statement. Both charges are class A misdemeanors.
SL police believe shooting was self inflicted
The investigation into the shooting of a local man on Tuesday night have led authorities to believe the injuries may have been self inflicted after the discovery of a witness and the firearm believed to be used in the case.
SL man shot on train trestle is in stable condition
Police are searching for two suspects in the crime
Saranac Lake Police are searching for two suspects involved in a shooting on Pine Street on Tuesday evening. At about 6:45 p.m. on Nov. 20, a person called 911 to report being shot. The victim, a 55-year-old man, was found on the train trestle near Pine Street and Broadway.
