Warrensburg's Floyd Bennett Memorial Bandstand is decaying, and town officials want to see it renovated. The town board voted June 13 to authorize application for a $270,00 state historical preservation grant to restore it. The regional landmark was constructed in the 1920s to honor Bennett, an aviator born in Warrensburg who piloted Richard E. Byrd on his attempt to reach the North Pole in 1926.
