Workers put the finishing touches on West Mountain Primary Care facility, the 14th health center opened by Hudson Headwaters Health Network, which was launched in the late 1970s from a clinic in Chestertown, followed by a larger health center in Warrensburg. Dr. John Rugge, considered a pioneer in rural health care in the the nation as well as in new York, built the chain from his vision of affordable, convenient rural health care available to all.
West Mountain Primary health Care will be holding an Open House event from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday Jan. 26. The center is located on Corinth Road, a half mile west of Northway Exit 18.
