North Elba supervisor Roby Politi appeared on a 60 Minutes Sports segment broadcast nationally Wednesday, Feb. 5, to discuss how a crew of civic leaders spearheaded the push to bring the Winter Olympics to Lake Placid in 1980.
Members of the North Elba Town Board Tuesday, June 12 made decisions regarding the multi-use trail along the train tracks through Ray Brook, Ironman Lake Placid and the dog control officer.
Town hears proposal to build anaerobic digester
North Elba Town Board members are considering a plan to build an anaerobic digester at the transfer station that would turn food scraps and other matter into fertilizer that could help them grow produce.
A sub-committee of five will start to take a deeper look at three potential buyers of the Horace Nye Nursing Home.
“We all appreciate everything you do,” Town Supervisor Roby Politi said to Dietrich, chairman of the Technical Steering Committee (TSC) for the Lake Placid/North Elba Joint Planning Commission, after a presentation on 11 suggested amendments to the planning code. “You’re a real activist in terms of this project. Quite frankly, it probably wouldn’t have gotten done without you.”
