After losing a heartbreaking 1-0 overtime loss to Chateauguay in the Class D soccer regional finals in November, the Lady Lions returned to town to face Hammond in the Class D regional semifinal March 5, this time falling to the Red Devils, 47-31.

Jay Hebert is breathing rarified air these days. The Ticonderoga High School junior won a pair of state titles at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association indoor track championships March 2. Then things got crazy. Following the meet the 55-meter hurdle specialist learned he had become the top athlete in his event in the nation.

The Elizabethtown-Lewis girls varsity basketball team made their third time to the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse a charm, earning the Section VII/Class D championship with a 49-34 win over the Moriah Vikings.

The Moriah Lady Vikings outscored the Indian Lake/Long Lake Lady Orange 13-3 in the final eight minutes of the game to score a 34-30 win in the sectional semifinal round Feb. 26 at AuSable Valley High School.
