They say the early bird gets the worm. It should read: “The early riser gets the bird,” and hopefully that bird’s a turkey, but for me, I think the “bird” is all I’m getting, so to speak!

Warm weather warnings

It’s hard to believe this is the fifth season that the handsome Visitors Center at the Westport Heritage House has been there to welcome newcomers to our region and our community.
The CATS photography contest winds up May 15, so get your camera or smart phone or whatever technology you prefer, and hit the trails.
This week the NCSPCA would like to announce that our first litter of kittens born at the new shelter are now seven weeks old and ready for adoption!
Notes from the North Woods
Adirondackers have again begun practicing that old, familiar wave.
The weather has gone from winter to summer in about three days. The lack of rain and hot sun are warming things up and drying things out.
