Lake Champlain Region artists are invited to take part in the Sixth Annual Spirit of Place Plein Air Day, Studio Tour, and Art Exhibit designed to showcase art inspired by living, working or visiting in the Champlain Valley for the benefit of the artists and Westport Heritage House in Westport.

Proposed boating regulations to be discussed June 12
Area residents will have an opportunity to comment on proposed Lake George boating regulations aimed at preventing the spread of invasive species. The Lake George Park Commission will hold a public hearing on the proposed plan Wednesday, June 12, at 6 p.m. at the Best Western in Ticonderoga.
Great Adirondack Trail Run set for June 15
The Mountaineer in Keene Valley will be hosting the ninth annual Great Adirondack Trail Run on Saturday, June 15. Event proceeds will support the Ausable River Association (AsRA) and the Boquet River Association (BRASS).

Chester to buy boat washing station, boost inspection of watercraft
While the state has balked at sponsoring boat inspection and decontamination to control the spread of aquatic invasive species, the town of Chester has voted to purchase a boat decontamination station and locate it at Loon Lake. They've also voted to boost the hours for lake stewards to be posted at local lakes to inspect boats for invasives before the watercraft are launched.
