Burglary, under-age drinking alleged
Police have arrested 29 people in connection with thefts and under-age drinking at a summer residence in Crown Point. An October investigation of a burglary led to a seasonal camp that, state police report, was used for four separate parties allegedly involving under-age drinking.
The tentative 2013 Essex County Budget was passed easily under weighted voting, adopting a spending plan that represented a 1.13-percent increase to the tax levy.
Three Keeseville teenagers were arrested Sunday, Dec. 9 for armed robbery after allegedly attempting to rob the Keeseville Mobil Station. Dexter T. Nash, 16, of Keeseville, Kevin J. Archer, 19, of Keeseville, and a 12-year-old male juvenile were arrested without incident following the attempted robbery.
A Warrensburg man was shot and killed during a hunting accident Saturday, Dec. 1 in the town of Chester, according to the Warren County Sheriff's Office.
Police believe Martin’s wounds to be self-inflicted
Police arrest the Saranac Lake man for making a false report saying he was shot and robbed. At 9 a.m. on Nov. 27, police arrested the victim, 55-year-old man William J. Martin of Saranac Lake. Martin was charged with third-degree falsely reporting an incident and making a punishable false statement. Both charges are class A misdemeanors.
Shortly after midnight Tuesday morning, an ambulance heading to CVPH Medical Center left the roadway.
The investigation into the shooting of a local man on Tuesday night have led authorities to believe the injuries may have been self inflicted after the discovery of a witness and the firearm believed to be used in the case.
Police are searching for two suspects in the crime
Saranac Lake Police are searching for two suspects involved in a shooting on Pine Street on Tuesday evening. At about 6:45 p.m. on Nov. 20, a person called 911 to report being shot. The victim, a 55-year-old man, was found on the train trestle near Pine Street and Broadway.
Due to a bomb threat, law enforcement authorities imposed a lockdown at Warrensburg High School and evacuated students who took shelter in the bus garage about 100 yards away.

Services have been scheduled for Dain Venne, the Port Henry soldier killed in Afghanistan Nov. 3. Venne’s body will arrive in Port Henry at approximately 12:15 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11. Moriah Supervisor Tom Scozzafava has asked people to line Route 9N from the Westport-Moriah town line to Harland’s Funeral Home on Main Street in Port Henry as a sign of respect. Calling hours will be Monday, Nov. 12, 4 to 8 p.m. at Harland’s. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at St. Patrick’s Church in Port Henry.
