Indian Lake custodian arrested for allegedly raping student
New York State Police recently arrested an Indian Lake Central School custodian for allegedly raping a student at the school during his evening shift.
Portion of County Route 11 closed due to wash out in Bolton

Denno found guilty for murder of Keeseville man
A jury found Scott E. Denno guilty of first-degree murder and first-degree gang assault after three-hour deliberation on May 8 for the death of Robert M. Rennie, of Keeseville. Acting Supreme Court Justice Richard Meyer sent the jury into deliberations shortly after 10 a.m., and they were back with a verdict shortly after 1 p.m.
Route 73 work through Cascades postponed
The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that construction on a project to make slope repairs this month along Route 73 in the vicinity of Cascade Lakes between Lake Placid and Keene, Essex County, has been postponed.

Police release names of Indian Lake fire victims
New York State Police today released the named of the two people killed in the Jan. 30 fire at 197 Pratt Road in Indian Lake. Both were residents of the mobile home: Anna M. Tracey, 71, and Roy J. Tracey Sr. Autopsies were performed the same day as the fire at the Nathan Littauer Hospital Morgue by Dr. Jungeun Lee. Police are saying they have been “tentatively” identified; positive identification is pending further forensic examination.
