PUTNAM Xiang “Addison” Wang, 31 of Ticonderoga, is said to have drowned while swimming off the shores of the Tiroga Town Beach on Sept. 4.
The victim was reported missing around 8 p.m Sept 4. by an acquaintance, said police. It is believed that Wang arrived at the beach at approximately 6 p.m. and was alone.
Police confirm that the missing persons call was placed to the Ticonderoga Police Dept. after the missing women's shoes, towel and vehicle were located at the beach.
"The park commission responded just before 9 p.m.," said Lt. William Bramlage of the Lake George Park Commission. "At about 945 p.m. a park commission boat located the body with a member of the Ticonderoga Fire Dept. The body was located 50 yards off shore in about six feet of water."
The drowning is believed to be accidental and is not considered suspicious at this time, the Washington County Sheriff's dept. said in a statement released Sept 5.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Washington County Coroner's office and an autopsy was preformed at Albany Medical Center on Sept. 5. Final results of the autopsy are pending toxicology.
The Washington County Sheriff's dept. was assisted in this investigation by the Lake George Park Commission, Warren County Sheriff's Dept., Ticonderoga Fire Dept. and a number of other fire and emergency squads.
