Ticonderoga Ticonderoga Elementary School students will present a play with a message.
More than 50 students will take part in “Hugo the Hero.” The play will be performed Saturday, March 22, at 7 p.m.
“It’s the story of a boy with a strange name who moves to a new school,” Wayne Chagnon, a music teacher and play director, said. “He has to deal with some bullying until other students learn to help him and adopt him as one of their own.”
The play is part of the school’s character education program, Chagnon said.
For the first time ever, the annual play will be performed on a Saturday.
“We pride ourselves on presenting a family-friendly evening of entertainment,” Chagnon said. “It’s been very popular in the past. We thought we may be able to make it easier for people to attend by holding it on a Saturday.
“The kids have worked very hard and are taking it very seriously,” he said. “I think we’ll have a great show.”
