SPECULATOR — The Hamilton County Youth Board is sponsoring their 5th Annual Family Fun Day on Monday, Aug. 4 at the Speculator Ball Field/Pavilion from 2-6 p.m.
There will be lots of activities for children of all ages. Activities include a rock climbing wall, a water slide, an inflatable obstacle course, a bounce house, a radar pitch machine, arts and crafts, face painting and much more. There will also be a dunk booth and caricatures for a small fee. Law enforcement agencies will hold a K-9 demonstration and provide ID cards in conjunction with Operation Safe Child. Fire trucks, ambulances and D.E.C. rescue vehicles, an air boat and a hummer will be on display as well.
New this year is an opportunity for children of all ages to walk through a fire prevention trailer provided by the Hagaman’s Volunteer Fire Department to teach children what to do in case of a fire. Another new addition is a live dog sledding demonstration. There will also be opportunities for families to learn about the services available throughout Hamilton County.
There will be live music provided by Alex Smith, a native of Long Lake. Please bring a chair.
The movie Planes will be playing at the Indian Lake Theater 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person for the movie. Please help support our local theater by coming to the watch the show!
Family Fun Day is free of charge for all Hamilton County residents, but donations are certainly appreciated. Please bring a non-perishable food item to donate to our local food pantries. Food and beverages will be available to purchase by the Speculator Fire Department. Thanks to the generous donations from local businesses and organizations around the county, we will have lots of free giveaways. Stop by and visit our local organizations who are tabling in the pavilion to receive your tickets for the giveaways.
