“Most of the shadows of this life are caused by our standing in our own sunshine.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Life is all about personal power. Not the kind of power that intimidates or imposes on others, but the confidence, direction and persistence that quietly commands, receives, and gives respect. The yellow chakra, located in the solar plexus, identifies with clarity, self-confidence and optimism.
Chakra work taps into the energy you have as well as the energy surrounding you. Exploring chakras is an intentional way of taking charge of personal health and wellness and a way to discover strengths you had forgotten or never realized were always a part of you.
Passion and belief are at the core of personal power and are elements of fire connecting to the “personal sunshine” that a well-balanced yellow chakra creates. As chakra exploration has evolved at Free Advice Nights this summer; questions, investigations, and “aha” moments have been plentiful.
A topic that generated much discussion this past week was the idea that personal power lies on a spectrum between bullying and victimization. The question of “where do I stand in this spectrum?” can become an easy exercise of self-awareness in gaining personal power.
At style & substance, we have developed a Law of Three – this simple exercise can help you get to the heart of the matter and offers a good way to navigate the personal power spectrum.
The Law of Three: REALIZATION, EXPLORATION & ACTION. For this exercise ask yourself the following questions:
• REALIZATION: When have I been a victim?
• EXPLORATION: Who held power over me? Why did I give away my personal power? What did I fear?
• ACTION: How will I navigate this spectrum to cultivate my inner strength?
Once you have reflected on these questions and your answers, the real action begins. How do you find and maintain that “sweet spot” of personal power?
