There was a fashion emergency on June 20 at Riverfront Park in North Creek – thank goodness the Johnsburg Rescue Squad ambulance, a paramedic and driver were on-hand to handle it. There was an issue with this situation, however: personnel from the squad were a cause of the emergency.
Beginning with a silent auction and continuing with a spectacular catwalk extravaganza involving many wonderful community organizations and businesses, The North Creek Business Alliance presented its third annual Catwalk in the Creek event on a fine very late spring evening. The event was a benefit for Johnsburg EMS and featured many folks walking a straw-covered runway dressed in creative, fine apparel while accessorizing to beat the band.
Fine food, drinks, and entertainment were available for all participants and audience members as this “Carhartts to Couture” spectacular unfolded to cheers and intense applause. The final runway line-up included the Adirondack Community Outreach Center, Barkeaters Chocolate, Basil & Wicks, barVino, Gore Mountain Region Chamber of Commerce, Heads in Beds, Hudson River Trading Company, Izzy’s Market, Marjolaine’s Touch, Pete’s Ahh, Poiema, Square Eddy Expeditions, the Vault, White Water Challengers and Wild Waters Outdoor Center.
It was a splendid evening at Riverfront Park and a great fundraiser for Johnsburg EMS. Thanks to all the volunteers and all the local businesses who donated food, drinks and items for the auction table. Thanks also to Creative Stage Lighting, Brian Conway, Noah Howard and Emily Stanton. It was a great evening of fun and fashion, and a terrific way to support the rescue squad, which provides such an important service to folks in the Town of Johnsburg and surrounding communities.
