Police searching for suspects in church burglary

Suspects made off with money from collection box

CHAMPLAIN — On Dec. 25, 2013, State Police responded to a report of a burglary at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Church Street in Champlain. The suspects had entered the church sometime during the night of Christmas Eve, following the evening mass, and stole an undetermined amount of money from the collection box. The suspects also damaged other property within the church.

State Police have determined that there was at least two suspects and that they were most likely traveling on foot due to tracks found at the scene.
