— AmeriCorps for the Adirondacks is currently seeking applications for its 2013-2014 program year.

Serving Clinton, Franklin, Essex and Hamilton counties, AmeriCorps offers a living stipend and educational stipends to qualified applicants in exchange for a year’s worth of work. AmeriCorps is hoping to recruit 14 qualified applicants.

“This has been an extremely rewarding year,” said AmeriCorps member Judy Harris. “I have lived in this community for many years, and yet this has allowed me to meet people I never knew were living in the same town. I have truly been given a gift this year in sharing my experiences.”

AmeriCorps will be accepting applications until all 14 positions are filled, but hopes that they will be able to start the program by Oct. 1.

Information on AmeriCorps can be found at ww.americorps.gov, and specific information can be found at ncworkforce.com.
