Michalak was released on an appearance ticket, police said.

Shots fired

A Hague man was jailed Sept. 15 after he allegedly fired three shots from a high-powered hunting rifle toward a man as part of a property dispute, state police said.

David N. Busick, 38, was charged after the shots were fired around on a private road off New Hague Road, according to police.

Busick was charged with a felony count of reckless endangerment and misdemeanor counts of menacing and prohibited use of a weapon, police reported.

He was arraigned in Horicon Town Court and sent to Warren County Jail for lack of bail.

The man at whom Busick allegedly shot was a contractor who had been hired by a landowner to put up “posted” signs on property near Busick’s, police said. There had been a dispute about access to the land, police said.

The contractor was driving away from the area when he saw a man emerge from a home, point a rifle toward his vehicle and shoot from about 70 feet away, according to police.

The truck was not hit. No injuries were reported.
