The Thurman Quilting Group holds their meetings every Monday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the town hall. What better time to pick up a new hobby or re-learn an old one. Handmade items make wonderful Christmas gifts. Bring your knitting, sewing, or quilting projects and make some new friends. Coffee, tea and light refreshments are served. Due to the Primary election, the regularly scheduled Thurman town board meeting was postponed to Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 6:30 p.m. Attending these meetings is a way to let your voice be heard.

The county-sponsored senior bus service to Glens Falls will run Friday, Sept. 13 and is free to seniors age 60 and over. Laura has stated that this is an enjoyable time for all who ride. Those who wish to go, call Laura by Wednesday Sept. 11 at 623-9281.

Gail Needham wishes to remind folks that Operation Christmas Child sends boxes filled with useful items not only to children on holidays, but to youngsters affected by hurricanes and other natural disasters here in the U.S. Additionally, she reminds readers that thoughtful items to add to these boxes may be a washcloth, towel, and bar of soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, hairbrush and deodorant. Filled boxes may be dropped off at the Thurman Town Hall during regular business hours.

Thurman Connections Snowmobile Club holds their meetings on the last Friday of the month at their clubhouse on Bear Pond Road. Their next meeting will be held on Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. For details, contact Doug Needham at 623-9234.
