The Bolton Bulletin

Lots to do in Bolton this weekend

Columbus Day weekend is sure to be busy in Bolton, as there is an extensive lineup of activities planned.

The Bolton Landing Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring Bolton’s Best Chili Cook-Off, to be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12. Attendees get to pick which chili is their favorite by voting with tasting coupons. They can be purchased at the Bolton Town Hall or at the Bolton Chamber of Commerce’s headquarters, the familiar log cabin. Prizes will be awarded, but the contest is really about the bragging rights. For details on the chili cook-off, call the Chamber office at 644-3831 or call event organizer Kelly O’Neil-Teer at 644-2120.

Bolton’s annual Town-Wide Garage Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 and Sunday, Oct. 13. Maps directing people to the sale sites will be available at the Chamber of Commerce office.

Last but not least, the semi-annual Bolton Arts & Crafts Festival, featuring some of the most skilled area artisans and their crafts, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday in Rogers Park. This show and sale of quality art and crafts is organized by Gail Street and benefits the Bolton Landing Rescue Squad.

Haunted Trail at Up Yonda next weekend

On Friday, Oct. 18 and Saturday, Oct. 19, Up Yonda Farm is hosting a night of thrills and chills as guests venture through the woods where monsters of the night will be waiting. Included this year is a “No Scare Area” for younger children featuring games, crafts and an inflatable haunted house. The Haunted Trail also includes spooky stories by the campfire and free refreshments. The event will be held rain or shine. From 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, there will be a non-scary trick-or-treat trail. Admission is $8 per person, $5 for Bolton residents and Up Yonda members. Children under 4 are free.
