Citizens in Warrensburg, Chester & Horicon to honor veterans

— The Chestertown-based American Legion and VFW are combining forces for a Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. Monday Nov. 11 at the new Veterans Memorial Plaza in front of the Chester Municipal Center. Between 300 and 500 area citizens are expected to attend the ceremonies.

An informal parade precedes the ceremony. Veterans will be gathering on Main St. near Pizza Luna at about 10:30 a.m., then forming a procession toward the municipal center at 10:45 a.m. for the services. All are invited to be spectators for the parade and join the ceremony.

Warrensburg Legion, VFW to hold Veterans Day events

The two leading veterans organizations in Warrensburg are honoring military personnel in two separate Veterans Day ceremonies on the morning of Monday Nov. 11 about a half-mile apart in town.

American Legion Post 446 will be conducting ceremonies at 10:45 a.m. at the Warrensburg Cemetery off Hudson St. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4821 of Warrensburg is holding its veterans day ceremonies at 11 a.m. in Frederick Flynn Memorial Park on River St.

All citizens in the region are welcome to attend either or both ceremonies.
