— Zibro theorized that his rally’s continued popularity was due to virtually unlimited free parking at the new site — unlike downtown Warrensburg— and no entry fee. Americade’s TourExpo, the world’s largest motorcycle equipment exposition, has an entry fee. Held annually in Lake George during the first week in June, the popularity of Americade spawned the Warrensburg event in the late 1990s as a competitor of sorts.

Zibro said he’s been a fan of motorcycling for many years, and he’s hand-picked the vendors in his Warrensburg show.

“I love biking, and I really appreciate my vendors— they’re all solid citizens,” he said. For details on the Warrensburg Bike Rally, call Zibro at 791-8728.

Amazing these guys are moochers. Or as a well known motorcycle writer, Fred Rau, put it "KLINGONS". Americade does the marketing and publicity to draw all the folks to Lake George area and has been doing this for some 30 years. About 12 years ago these folks decided to siphon off Americade riders and dollars that rightfully belongs to vendors who for years have committed to make Americade a success. Look, it takes money and vision to begin a motorcycle rally to Lake George. Bill Dutcher spends 100s of thousands to make Americade work and has a full year around staff. That staff isn't free. It doesn't take creativity to use some else's vision and hard work and siphon away Americade business. Why don't these moochers stop mooching and create a rally in late August or September? They will quickly understand the commitment both of money and mind to make an event an real success.
