Voters decline Newcomb, Minerva school budgets

State tax levy cap: 3.97 percent increase

Johnsburg: Voters in the Johnsburg Central School District approved the budget 240-40, according to School Superintendent Mike Markwica. William Conner and Chris Jay ran unopposed for the Johnsburg School Board.

Here were the budget numbers:

Proposed budget: $9,953,800

Current budget: $9,697,932

Budget increase: $255,868, or 2.6 percent

Proposed tax levy: $5,381,485

Current tax levy: $5,281,143

Tax levy increase: $100,342 or 1.9 percent

State tax levy cap: 4.26 percent increase

Indian Lake: The Indian Lake Central School budget passed 180 to 46, according to Business Manager Louann Tetrault. Leonard Franko ran unopposed for the Indian Lake School Board.

Here were the budget numbers:

Proposed budget: $5,983,341

Current budget: $5,822,831

Budget increase: $160,510, or 2.75 percent

Proposed tax levy: $4,478,441

Current tax levy: $4,339,919

Tax levy increase: $138,522 or 3.19 percent

State tax levy cap: 3.26 percent increase

Long Lake: The Long Lake Central School District budget passed 112 to 28, according to School Superintendent Mary Dickerson. The bus proposition also passed 119 to 21. Paul Roalsvig ran unopposed for the Long Lake School Board.

Here were the budget numbers:

Proposed budget: $3,684,259

Current budget: $3,615,151

Budget increase: $69,108, or 1.9 percent

Proposed tax levy: $2,601,546

Current tax levy: $2,518,214

Tax levy increase: $83,332 or 3.31 percent

State tax levy cap: 3.3114 percent
