Footrace on Saturday honors memory of young Lake George teacher

— The 12th annual Randy’s Run will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 18 at Lake George Elementary School, Sun Valley Drive.

Proceeds are used to benefit students of Lake George Central School.

The cost is $15 and a “dry fit” shirt is guaranteed to the first 150 registrants. Check in will begin at 7:30 a.m. and registration will be from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. The entry fee on race day is $20.

Randal Madison, who died unexpectedly in 2001 at age 31 of a brain aneurysm, was a Lake George Elementary School teacher. . His colleagues, friends, students and family founded this run in Madison’s memory.

The race course starts at Lake George Elementary School and follows the Warren County bikeway where Madison ran with his colleagues after school.
