— The Motivators are one of 97 Relay for Life teams raising money for the American Cancer Society.

The Relay for Life Plattsburgh event will be held at the Clinton County Fairgrounds, 84 Fair Grounds Road, beginning with the survivors lap at 7 p.m. The lap will be followed by a luminaria ceremony. The ceremony takes place after dark, so people can remember people lost to cancer, honor people who have fought cancer in the past, and support those whose fight continues. A fight back ceremony, a history of the event will be discussed, along with musical performances, and activities like zumbathon will keep the Relay event going until 7 a.m. the next morning.

“If you’ve never been to a relay event it’s truly a moving event, once you go you have to go ever year,” said Dumas. “It’s a great way to show support, everyone’s lives have been touched by cancer in one way or another and the relay event is one way we can honor people who have died and encourage people who are fighting right now.”

Admission is $7 per zumba participant.
