As many members of the network are mothers, Graves said the idea to raise money for MADD was near to their hearts.
“It is always a fun time. Years past the proceeds have been donated to the Susan. G. Komen Race for the Cure ladies and other times it was the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center,” said Graves.
“Talking with the people from MADD they were not only grateful that we would be raising money for the organization but were almost more enthusiastic about getting the message back out there about the dangers of driving intoxicated.”
The network is open for community members and meets the second Wednesday of each month from 6 to 7:30 p.m, at the Ground Round conference room.
“It is an informal meeting in which members discuss challenges and topics that apply to our small businesses,” Graves said. “We often plan events and fundraisers also.”
