Scene in Plattsburgh - Style & Substance

DRESS CODE

Sweet, spring themed windows draw the downtown Plattsburgh stroller in to DRESS CODE. A boutique feel, hundreds of styles, and friendly fashion advice are what attracts new customers and keep regulars coming back. Oh, and we would be remiss if we did not mention…DRESS CODE is a consignment shop! DRESS CODE owner, Julie Woodley, fulfilled a life path dream when she opened the shop and her success, she believes, is based on always saying “YES” (this will happen!) and never “maybe”. Julie’s hair defines her style; spontaneous and fun, and the clothes in DRESS CODE are always changing and inspiring, just like Julie.

Julie opened her doors 4 years ago with teens in mind, but DRESS CODE has grown, moved, and changed into a shop for all ages. Her core customer group was originally 19 to 27, but with her move to the corner of Bridge Street and City Hall Place, she has tripled her business and really grown to suit all ages, male and female.

Shopping at DRESS CODE makes you socially responsible and stylish while supporting the emergence of a vibrant downtown scene, or as we like to say, “Scene in Plattsburgh”. Julie believes in small business in Plattsburgh and works together with other small businesses to promote downtown as a destination.

Staying true to her original plan, Julie keeps merchandise highly organized to provide the shopper with an easy to look, always changing appeal. She gets a little help from her 3 daughters and a lot of help from her sole employee, Kim. Together Kim and Julie are a fashion flurry!

Perhaps you thought you had to travel to Burlington, Albany, the internet, or even NYC to find unique pieces by your favorite labels, but not true. You can find Forever 21, H & M, Charlotte Russe, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor Loft, Free People, Hollister, American Eagle, Columbia, EMS and Carhartt, all at amazing prices! DRESS CODE also offers designer bags, shoes, and clothing – stop in frequently to view the ever changing treasures.

OUR RECOMMENDATIONS: Say “YES” to DRESS CODE and your own personal dreams. Make positive things happen in your life by updating your style, daring to try something new. Exchange what you don’t wear for what you will wear. Get some style advice and have a little fun with the change of season as your impetus to create the you you’ve been longing to become.
