School board has opening

— The Westport Central School District is seeking a candidate to fill one (1) five-year term vacancy on the Board of Education. The seat is currently held by Jim Carroll.

Candidates seeking this position must be a qualified voter of the District who is able to read and write, a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years of age, and a resident of the District for at least one year before the election.

Petitions are available in the District Office between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Those who would like to be considered as candidates for this term must submit a petition to the District Clerk signed by at least 25 qualified voters of the District. Petitions must be returned to the District Office no later than 4 p.m. on April 22.

The Board of Education election will be held on Tuesday, May 21, from noon through 9 p.m. M in the lobby outside the Bulles Auditorium.
