— The Valley News recently talked with the members of the AuSable Valley girls varsity basketball team, which is heading to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association's Class C Final Four at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy Saturday, March 16, where they will play Bishop Kearney at 2:15 p.m.

All of the 14 players on the team were asked the same two questions: what is you first memory in the game of basketball and what it meant to them to be going to the state Final Four. here are some of their answers:

What is your first basketball memory?

When I started playing basketball in third grade at Keeseville Elementary School.

What does it mean to be going to the NYSPHSAA Final Four?

It is an unbelievable feeling. I am flabbergasted. Words cannot describe how excited I am.

My dad coaching me in basketball.

Just playing basketball whenever I could as a little kid.

This is my last year playing so it means a lot to get this far.

Playing in elementary school at Au Sable Forks.
