Elizabethtown The 33rd Annual Doc Lopez Run for Hope which benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will take place on Saturday, March 23.
The run is named for Westport veterinarian Robert “Doc” Lopez, the avid runner who initiated this event.
The 12.1 mile course begins at the Keene Community Center (near Junction of NY Routes 9N and 73) and finishes at the Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School. Registration is at 8 a.m. (ELCS), 8:30 a.m. (Keene CC) and the start is at 9 a.m. The 5K race course is an out-and-back route beginning and ending at the Elizabethtown Lewis Central School. Registration is at 9 a.m. (ELCS) and the start is at 9:30 a.m.
Participants who pre-register by March 8 will receive a T-shirt. Showers and a post-race buffet are available at the Elizabethtown Lewis Central School. There are medals for 14 different age categories and the oldest and youngest runners. For all races, the fee is $20 for adults and $10 for students K-12. The family fee is $50.
