There are a few new things happening around town. Every Tuesday, from 9 until 10 a.m., the Arthritis Foundation, along with the Eastern Adirondack Health Care Network is sponsoring a FREE exercise program at the Hand House. This class will help keep your joints moving, improve muscle tone around joints, reduce pain and improve flexibility. For more information call 962-4514.

Senior lunches will now be held every Friday at the Church of the Good Shepherd parish hall from approximately 11 a.m. for a social time, maybe even a game or 2 of Bingo, or an occasional speaker, lunch is served about 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.. If you’re 60 or older the cost is $3.50. Contact 873-3690 to let them know you’ll be joining the group, especially if you would prefer fish.

There are new shopping bus trips each week, these trips are open to anyone that would like to save on gas and enjoy the company of others. The 1st Thursday of the month and the third Wednesday, there are shopping trips to Plattsburgh, the cost of these trips is $10 round trip, to take advantage of the trips, call Ellen at 576-4444, on the Monday, before the trip to let her know you want to go.

The second Tuesday of the month there is a shopping trip to Ticonderoga, the fourth Tuesday the shopping trip will be to Saranac Lake/Lake Placid area. If you would like to go on either of these trips, it’s first come, first serve, the cost is $5 round trip. Call 1-800-914-9266, the Monday before the trip.

St. Elizabeth’s is hosting the “Historic Churches of Elizabethtown and Lewis” slide show, presented by Margaret Bartley on Sunday, June 23, in the parish hall at 3 p.m. Admission is FREE, but donations are always welcome to help the Stained Glass Window Fund, working towards repairing the beautiful town hall windows.

The first Meadowmount Concert is Friday, June 28, and the 2013 Depot Theatre season opens this evening with the musical “Route 66.” Contact their websites for details, www.depottheatre.org, and meadowmount.com.

Remember, the Thrift Shop summer hours are Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m..

Planning for E-town weekend is in full swing. Contact the fire department if you plan on walking or having a float in the parade.
