Port Henry A historic Port Henry home was destroyed by fire June 10.
A 163-year-old home, formerly owned by Neil Anderson and now vacant, burned at the intersection of Broad and Stone streets. The fire was reported at 4:15 p.m. Officials termed the home a total loss.
Port Henry, Moriah, Mineville-Witherbee, Crown Point and Ticonderoga fire companies responded with the Moriah Ambulance Squad and police.
The Essex County Air One truck from Westport was called to refill firefighters’ air packs.
Investigators from the Essex County Fire Investigation Unit were at the fire attempting to determine the cause.
Anderson had lived in the wood-frame, two-and-a-half-story home for more than 30 years, but recently sold the property to Michael Mackin, who lives out-of-state.
