A free program “Expanding the Visual Experience” which explores the fundamentals of art appreciation is to be presented by Richard Stout at 7 p.m. Wednesday July 31 at the Lake George Land Conservancy in Bolton Landing. Stout often lectures on art history to community groups. He also writes art reviews.

Bolton Seniors plan activities

Adults from Bolton Landing and surrounding communities are welcome to sign up for upcoming trips at 10 a.m. Wednesday Aug. 7 at the Bolton Senior Center. The sign-up session is followed by a short business meeting at 10:15 a.m. of the Bolton Seniors Club. Afterwards, Don Engels will follow with a slide show of Egyptian pyramids. Lunch will be offered at the Bolton meal site.

One of the upcoming trips is the Hayfield Erie Canal Cruise on Thursday, Aug. 8, which includes a stopoff at the Herkimer Diamond Mines, a source of quartz that has unique characteristics. The cost of $64 includes lunch. For details, contact Al Franz at 644-2033.

Upcoming events also a trip to see the musical “The Wiz” presented on Thursday Aug. 1 by the Lake George Youth Theatre: The show is $10, and lunch following is $4. Contact Wilma at 644-2585 or Pat at 644-9359 for a reservation.
