Calif. folksinger to perform here

Noted contemporary singer-songwriter Jonah Smith, who has toured internationally, will perform in Bolton Landing’s Pub on 9 at 8 p.m. Thursday July 18.

Originally from upstate New York, Smith recently moved to California, and he’s now touring the East Coast.

Smith has the range of talent to write the simplest folk song or draft an orchestral arrangement. His influences include American blues as well as soul, country, and folk idioms.

He has won an Independent Music Award for his song “My Morning Scene.” Smith has shared the stage with such noted artists as Madeleine Peyroux, Los Lobos and Little Feat. The New York Times has said, “Smith’s folk songs are equally well suited to downtown lounges and rural front porches, and his languid, easy vocals are pleasantly textured.”

This appearance celebrates the release of Jonah’s new album, In the Kitchen, created with Andy Stack, who will also be performing. The cover charge for this concert is $15.

Pub on 9 offers a full menu, and all ages are welcome. Pub on 9 is located at 4571 Lakeshore Drive in Bolton Landing. Their phone number is 644-7023.
