Arts, historical events planned in July, August

Arts, historical and business organizations have joined to create the “Ticonderoga Area Summer.”

— — a theatrical production of “Love Letters” will be presented July 31 at 7:30 p.m. at The Downtown Gallery, sponsored by the Ti Festival Guild;

— the Lake Placid Sinfonetta will perform Aug. 2 at 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church, co-sponsored by the Ti Revitalization Alliance and the Ti Festival Guild;

— Fort Ticonderoga’s Midsummer Gala will be held Aug. 3;

— the Hague Arts and Crafts Fair will be held at the Hague Community Building Aug. 3 and 4;

— the 21st annual Ticonderoga Area Car Show will be held Aug. 3 and 4. There will be a community cruise at 11 a.m. and a downtown cruise-in at 2 p.m. Aug. 3 with the car show 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Bicentennial Park Aug. 4;

— The Downtown Gallery will hold its first anniversary party and North Country Community College student art opening 5 p.m. Aug. 7;

— A Summer A’Fair will be held at the Hancock House, sponsored by the Ti Historical Society, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 10;

— the Silver Bay String Quartet will play at 3 p.m. in Bicentennial Park Aug. 10;

— the Crown Point State Historic Site will host a French & Indian War encampment Aug. 10 and 11;

— a theatrical production of “Love Letters” will be presented Aug. 13 at 2 p.m. and again Aug. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at at The Downtown Gallery, sponsored by the Ti Festival Guild;

— the Ticonderoga Community Band will perform at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Knights of Columbus pavilion;

— the Prometheus Brass Music Concert will be offered at 7:30 p.m. at Grace Memorial Chapel in Sabbath Day Point Aug. 17;

— the MoriahStock music festival will be held in Port Henry Aug. 24; and

— sidewalk stolls over the Lake Champlain Bridge in Crown Point at 1 p.m. Aug. 25.

The Ticonderoga Area Cultural Arts Initiative meets the first Monday of the month at 5 p.m. in the Community Building. The group welcomes cultural groups in the area and individuals interested in the visual, performing and literary arts.
