“We wanted to do something different,” explained Tim Kolodzey of the Port Henry Knights of Columbus. “We thought this would be fun.”

The Not Too Far From Home Comedy Tour features comedians Aaron David Ward, Deric Harrington and Frank Gentile. The trio is part of a group of professional comedians who tour the Northeast.

Ward, from TV’s “The Glenn Slingerland Situation,” offers socio-political and culturally-critical comedy. Ward has appeared in the Boston Comedy Festival, Plymouth Rock Comedy Festival and in several movies, including “What I See In The Dark” and “Aftermath.” He has also performed in a pilot for MTV and VH1 titled “The List.”

Harrington studied acting in college, but decided to pursue comedy.

“There’s something really exciting about living and dying by your own words,” he said. “The rush when the crowd laughs, there’s nothing like it.”

Harrington claims to have been voted “Funniest Person in Upstate New York” and “Second Funniest Person in Peoria, Ill.”

Gentile got his start as a comedian working with Jimmy Fallon. He has appeared in several comedy competitions and is now part of the Not Too Far From Home Comedy Tour.
