Juried art show winners named

— The Lake Placid Center for the Arts is pleased to present the 2013 Black & White Juried Art Show: A Showcase of Regional Artists. The Black & White Juried Art Show will be on exhibit through Feb. 17 in the LPCA Fine Arts Gallery. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 1 to 5 p.m., with additional hours during performance programs. Admission is free.

The Winners of this Juried Show were announced during the opening reception on Friday, Jan. 11. This year's Juror, Sam Hendren, awarded approximately $1,000 in cash and gift certificates.

The awards are as follows:

Best in Show: “Incogneato #1 (The Lady)” by Matthew Paul.

First Place: “Framing for Birches” by Burdette Parks.

Second Place: “Enjoying Life - Area 51 XOXO” by Valerie Patterson.

Third Place: “The Drifter” by Shawn L. Halperin.

Fourth Place: “The Landscape as a Fallen Leaf” by Jeanne Danforth.

Honorable Mentions: “Flow” by Nancy Brossard; “Hubris Greed” by George Dirolf; “The Day I Met Myself” by Annoel Krider; “Stony Creek Study” by Suzanne Lebeda; “Tension” by Barry Lobdell; “Waiting” by Larry Poole; “Quiet” by Linda Sweeney.
