Bicentennial meals offered
The joint Warrensburg-Warren County Bi-centennial is now underway, and two local restaurants are offering specials to observe these historic milestones.
From Jan. 2 through Dec. 18, Lizzie Keays Restaurant on River St. in Warrensburg will be offering a choice of three entrees for $18.13 — representing the year both municipalities were founded. The dinners are to include soup or salad. Reservations are recommended. RSVP by calling 504-4043.
From Feb. 1 through March 12, George Henry's Restaurant on Main St. in Warrensburg is offering two Bicentennial specials each week, inspired by food from 1813. For reservations or details, call 623-5186.
Tai Chi classes available now
The River Street Athletic Club will be offering Tai Chi sessions beginning with an initial class at 7:30 p.m. Thursday Jan. 31.
Tai Chi is reputed to reduce stress, as well as boosting internal energy and improving balance and flexibility. The six-week course will cost $69. To enroll in the sessions, call Carolyn Cyr at 623-2568.
Citizen & Business of Year sought
The Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce is now seeking nominations for their annual Citizen of the Year and Business of the Year awards.
The purpose of the awards are to recognize a citizen’s outstanding service to the community, and to draw attention to an enterprise that has contributed substantially to the local commercial scene — or improve the town in some manner.
Send details on the nominees, including details on why they should be selected, to the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce — which can be contacted at: firstname.lastname@example.org or via mail at: 3826 Main Street Warrensburg, NY 12885.
The business and individual chosen for the award are to be honored at a Chamber dinner scheduled for May. For further details, call 623- 2161.
