continued Armstrong said the show will be the first time artists’ work has been for sale at the center since the closing of the store in the fall.
“It’s meant to replace our gift store and it’s a way for local artists to connect with the community,” Armstrong said. “It will be something we will continue to do at least three times a year as a celebration.”
The artists’ market will combine the showing and sale of local artist’s work while holding special carnival activities for the whole family, including an ice cream sundae bar courtesy of Stewart’s Shop, raffles, games, crafts and art workshops and a silent auction.
Armstrong said throughout the day music will be playing, several workshops will be held in the center’s basement and third floor, family activities and craft time will also be going on through the day, and of course, there will be a mixture of different art work hung throughout the main floor galleries.
NCCCA member Jeff Woodard will hold a family activity making “Egg Carton Creatures” free of charge in the afternoon. Armstrong said Parrotte’s garage band musical class may also make an appearance to entertain event goers.
