continued “This unit was an exemplar using the new standards, non-fiction resources and also showed the benefits of cross curricular work the students did in reading, writing, science, social studies, music and art,” Brannock said. “The audience enjoyed viewing actual reports done by our students as well. Crown Point Central School is very proud to have had the opportunity to showcase our school.”
King then discussed Common Core issues with the Crown Point contingent.
“He asked questions of our teachers that showed he was interested and excited to hear about our programs,” Brannock said. “After our presentation, we were complimented by many in attendance and even told that ‘we nailed it.’ We are very proud to have been part of the commissioner’s visit to the North Country!”
While touring the area, King also visited Schroon Lake Central School, stopping in classrooms and observing lessons being taught.
