Just a few updates: There will not be a ZBA (Zoning Board of Appeals) meeting tonight. Their next meeting will be the third Thursday of February and is open to the public.

The Elizabethtown Public Library has new hours beginning immediately. On Mondays and Thursdays they will be closing at 5 p.m. instead of 6 p.m. until April 1.

If you need to acquire any immunizations, Essex County Public Health, E-town Clinic schedule is Mondays, from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and Thursdays, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. It's not too late to get your Flu shot if you need one. Appointments are preferred, contact them at 873-3500.

Ticonderoga Federal Credit Union (TFCU) has begun their annual OLD cell phone drive. Please bring your donations of old cell phones, chargers and accessories in any condition to the office during regular hours, drop them in the collection bins, throughout January and February. The donations will be given to the “STOP Domestic Violence Center”, where they are turned into Emergency 911 phones. They are also welcoming donations of toiletry items, such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, along with women's clothing and blankets. Please help if you can, if you have any questions contact the bank at 873-2554.

Do you know of someone that might need or appreciate a cat to take care of, a companion for the elderly, a shut-in or teaching responsibility to a child? The NCSPCA is having a “January White Sale”, any cat that has white markings is 75 percent off, be the proud owner of a delightful feline friend for $15. The Depot Theatre is bringing back “Bingo for the Depot” for a fun evening out. This Saturday, Jan. 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Westport Heritage House. Entry fee with one card is $5, additional cards are $1 each, proceeds benefit the Depot Theatre's Education Outreach program. If you have any questions call 962-4449.

An “AARP Defensive Driving Course” for ALL ages is being sponsored by Essex County Office for the Aging on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the Public Safety Building in Lewis from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Reservations are needed, call 873-3695 and bring your lunch.
