Peru — The Stewart’s Shop on State Route 22 in Peru was robbed by an armed suspect at 10:35 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2, according to the New York State Police in Plattsburgh.
According to police, an unknown white male entered the store wearing a mask or some other material to conceal most of his face. He was also wearing a dark colored jacket, blue jeans and dark colored shoes. No further description of the suspect was available. The suspect displayed what appeared to be a black-colored semi-automatic handgun and demanded money. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of money and was observed fleeing the scene in a small, dark-colored car with an aftermarket rear wing/spoiler.
