Indian Lake Chamber of Commerce (ILCC) is nonprofit membership organization serving Indian lake, Sabael, and Blue Mountain Lake. Its mission is to promote economic development through business and tourism while preserving and enhancing quality of life. ILCC will help its members achieve success by providing value-added programs and services; shaping public policy; and build partnerships and coalitions to effectively work with community, government, and educational organizations throughout Hamilton County.
What does ILCC do? That is a very common question.
ILCC envisions working with its members to (1) collaborate on issues and ideas that will help our individual businesses grow and the Town of Indian Lake flourish; (2) provide a support network of businesses that share common goals; and (3) pool resources to effectively bring visitors into our businesses for services, dining, leisure and shopping. In 2013, we expanded our vision to focus on job creation and economic development through the adoption of Adirondack Teleworks — a staff supported web based project to encourage teleworking in the Adirondack Park.
As ILCC members your membership fee supports the greater Indian Lake community — it is an investment in the town of Indian Lake’s future success. Members benefit in many ways including exclusive business referrals, individual listings on a newly designed website, member-only brochure display, quarterly newsletter, educational classes and seminars, FAM (familiarization) TOURS, Facebook promotion, business-to-business networking opportunities, access to health insurance, and electricity discounts.
In addition to being “the place” to stop for tourist information, ILCC sells hunting and fishing licenses, has free Wi-Fi, and provides copy and fax services. ILCC is the place for information —whether you are a tourist or a resident.
ILCC focuses on bringing visitors to our area to so they spend money in our restaurants, stores, and motels and lodges. We partner with the Town of Indian Lake to support special town events such as the Winter Fest and Antiques Show. We partner with Hamilton County to promote Birding Festival and Inlet to promote the Black Fly Challenge. We exclusively sponsor and host The Great Adirondack Moose Festival which attracts more than two thousand visitors to the area in late September. In the future, we hope to expand our partnerships, broaden our reach, and sponsor more tourism tourist destination related events.
