Girls basketball

Westport 40, Lake Placid 20

After scoring only two points in the opening eight minutes, the Lady Eagles used a 19-6 second quarter to pull ahead of Lake Placid for good. Brendee Russell led the offensive charge for the Eagles with 15 points. Danielle Schwoebel added 12, while Hannah Schwoebel scored 6, Sarah Looby 5 and Keregan Viens 2.

Seton Catholic 46, Elizabethtown-Lewis 21

After outscoring the Lady Lions 23-16 in the first half, Seton Catholic clamped down defensively, allowing only a trio of points in the final 16 minutes to earn the win. Lily Whalen paced the Lions with 13 points with Angel Barnes adding 4, Jasmin Barnes 2 and Myra Adams 2.

Moriah 73, Willsboro 19

Moriah jumped out to a 21-6 first quarter lead against the Lady Warriors on their way to a win. Trina Bigelow and Rachael Burt each scored four points for the Warriors, while the trio of Taylor Bigelow, Stephanie Blanchard and Kathryn Belzile scored three apiece. Amanda Henrichs added two points.

Boys basketball

Plattsburgh High 62, AuSable Valley 56

After heading into halftime tied 26-26, Plattsburgh High used a 21-12 third quarter to give themselves enough of a cushion to score the win against the Patriots. Zach Cosgrove scored 15 points for the Patriots with Shane Douglas adding 11, John Goodnough 8, Austin Facteau 8, Kobe Parrow 6, Sultan Sikandar 4 and Nick McDonald 4.
