King Arthur Flour’s Life Skills Bread Baking Program, now in its 21st year, has been brought to schools in 37 States and taught more than 200,000 4th - 7th grade students, while the classes it holds at its Baking Education Center have been attended by nearly 5,000 bakers. KAF has made social responsibility a core aspect of its business by offering its owner-employees 40 hours of paid time to volunteer for community projects. In recent years it has also has embarked on a major effort to be environmentally responsible by making its facilities more energy efficient and reducing its wastes and emissions of CO2.
